That storm was BAD.
(It was recently the first anniversary of one of the only tornados that France has ever had. A village near the English Channel was partially destroyed, and on the reports the people still living in mobile homes were lamenting about how slow it was for a normal life to start again. And yet all year, we get to see the most horrible devastation of tornados that strike the U.S. on the evening news. I guess people think that Americans just snap their fingers and everything returns to normal instantly.)

More here about blame, although it sounds as though everything was done that could be done, and as quickly as possible under the circumstances. Although the emphasis of the article is on how many were saved, it's impossible not to wonder about who is yet unaccounted for. The article ends on a heartbreaking note. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090816/ap_on_re_as/as_asia_storm
