What with can I clean a Louis Vuitton bag on the inside?
Some chocolate bar broke in it and it's a complete mess!

Oh, but I walk past the LV megastore on my way out of the office every day and I saw that they have lots of bags left, just in case you were worried they might run out.
(More seriously, isn't there are nearby leather goods store that you can call and ask about how to clean the inside of a bag? I'm sure they would know.)

Surprised that you are willing to get rid of the chocolate in the bottom of the bag

Bring it over to me. I'll turn it inside out and place it on the floor. My dog will do the rest.

LOL @ happy! :-)
Kerouac, that's an idea actually.
For now I've used a damp cloth. Let's see if that'll work.

Paikea - have you got one of those lovely coloured ones or a brown on brown one?

Paikea, is the inside lined with fabric or with leather? If it's fabric, pull the lining as far out of the bag as you can and holding it away from the leather part of the bag, wash it in a basin until you get all the chocolate out. If it's all leather inside, turn it inside out and use saddle soap on it, according to the directions on the package. Once it's as clean as you can get it, let it dry, then use a product to moisturize the leather and keep it soft.

I have a brownish one. The real classic. Love it!
bix, unfortunately the fabric can't be pulled out at all. Any other ideas?

Well, you can't very well use the bag the way it is, so turn it inside out and wash it well. Then wash the outside, too, so it won't be streaky. Use something like Dove soap, either on both sides, or just the fabric side, then saddle soap for the outside. Rinse it, and blot it dry as best you can, then put it out of the sun somewhere to dry. Keep turning it right-side & wrong-side out in order to dry it thoroughly, keeping whichever part happens to be on the inside stuffed with paper or absorbent fabric. Don't use newspaper or other printed paper.
Once it's completely dry, recondition the leather.

Maybe hasten the drying with a blow dryer?

I'd only do that very lightly, if at all, & then only on the fabric inside. Drying it quickly might make the leather crack. I believe you can start conditioning it while it's still damp.

Some (or most) LV bags can't be turned inside out.

When I am grown up and I get to own a LV, I will definitely let you know. ;D
I hope that you manage to clean it. If you cannot turn it inside out then I suggest a damp (no dripping water), lightly soaped cloth, wipe the inside and then wipe with a dry cloth.
Otherwise, I have no idea.
If you can't clean it, you should maybe put it on that growing pile of clothing that you have sorted into a pile for responsible disposal?

Some (or most) LV bags can't be turned inside out. My doggie has a long nose. I am sure she could reach inside ;D

I would have tried to scrape it off but it's too late now. try and find a cobbler/leather goods merchant as K2 suggests. Or maybe LV has an online customer service?
