Anyone fancy doing a "day in the life" thread and anyone who is interested could do a photospread on a normal day in their life?
We could either all agree a day and do it on the same day to see what we are all doing on the same day, or allocate days to people that they will take photos and post on the same day?
Anyone in?

I don't know if I completely understand how it would work ........... but it sounds like a great idea.

Yay imec!
Well I was thinking we choose a date and on that day everyone who wants to be involved takes their camera arond with them and take photos of what we see and do throughout the day and then posts it in one post in a thread dedicated to that day...pics can be as personal or not as each person wants.
It would be nice to see you all brushing your teeth, the first thing you see when you wake up and what we all eat for breakfast and what our cars/bus stops look like in different corners of the world. Even who is wearing jumpers and scarves and who is wearing a bikini...

Interesting! Fun! Would you put it all in one big thread, or would we post our days in our country sections?

oooooooo I had thought of one thread on here so we can compare them all easily....now I don't know

I'll go for it, even if you have seen quite a bit of my life already.
Using the country sections might be good. "A day in Paris" "A day in England" "A day in Oaxaca" or whatever, and we could also have a central thread with links to everybody's "day".

Ok, I'll be in as well. I also favour the country branches with one central link if possible.

This is such a great idea, Tilly.
Even though I love the gorgeous threads with scenery, it would be fascinating to see up close the homely details that make up real life around the world.
Maybe this will liberate some members who are too shy otherwise to break into picture posting, thinking they need to wait for a vacation to have something to show.

I guess we can all go ahead and start, right? This is going to be great. As soon as the first one gets posted, we can start the central index thread.

Woke up, fell out of bed Dragged a comb across my head dragged a scraper across the windshield imec is up early this morning in order to fetch young Miss I from the pool (Mrs. I has dropped her off at 6:00AM) Damn! Frost this morning - I'll scrape a bit off and then use windshield washer fluid for the rest. No one else on the street at the moment. The river on the right is the same one that my yard backs onto. We live just outside the "perimeter highway" (although still within city limits). Traffic tends to thicken up once we cross it. I've taken a chance this morning - take the route with no level crossing but heavier traffic or take the route with the level crossing and hope for no train. No train today - YESSS! The PanAm Pool was built for the PanAm games in 1967 and expanded (new training tank) and renovated for the 99 PanAm games. As usual, she's one of the last out of the pool. Back at home, I have a few minutes before taking the young imecs to school (it's actually a short walk but Mrs. I thinks it's mean to ake them walk - we can't agree on everything I guess) Time for some toast made with my favorite rye bread (City Bread is the name of the bakery) and some of Mrs I's excellent coffee (if I don't say it's excellent, she'll stop making it - it is very good actually) I read the news today oh boy... Every year the issue of stubble burning returns to the news. Farmers like to get rid of remaining stubble by burning it. Farms ring the city and the smoke causes all sorts of safety and health problems as well as being a damned nuisance. Three Manitobans are among the richest people in the country... The parole board gets it right for a change... Government meddles in wind power and predictably, screws it up... 8:30 - off to school we go... The kids schools - both French Immersion schools - K-8 and 9-12 - are side by each (an expression which is a good natured poke at French Canadian's English) Before completing my packing for an overnight in Toronto, I set up a freezer meal for easy prep when the family gets hime this evening - tere will be a rush to get them fed and get Miss I back to the pool for 5:45. All packed and ready to go. Found my coat and grabbed my hat, made the bus minivan in seconds flat... As usual, I'm running late and will have to hope for minimal traffic if I'm to make my flight. The Winnipeg Airport Terminal is a wonderful example of 60's modern architecture which will unfortunately be torn down next year when the new terminal is opened. Safely ensconced in 4D (my preferred seat is 2D but some creep beat me to it). Had the Citrus honey glazed salmon and ginger vegetable julienne on sticky rice for lunch (washed down with an Italian white of some sort) - it was ok. (on the way home, I had the Vegetarian lasagna with goat cheese which was really quite good - but that's a different day - same life though) I usually rent a car but today I've decided to take a limo into town. We pass th Skydome (now called Rogers Centre) and the CN Tower (shrowded in fog today). I arrive at my destination - one of several offices my employer has here. After my meeting I check into the Four Seasons. It's a terrific hotel and we get an embarrassingly low corporate rate here. One of the many things that makes this hotel special... Well, just enough time to iron my shirt and get ready for the evening event - an awards gala (sorry, no pics - but when the media pics are published I'll edit the post) * Loud piano chord which takes forever to fade *

Absolutely fantastic, imec! Of course, most of us don't take the plane to work as often as you do.
Anyway, I hope that this has inspired a number of us to finally buckle down and make the same sort of report (although I did do one somewhere about driving to work one morning).

Oh Imec! that's such an exciting post! that's WONDERFUL. I felt so happy reading it and I was laughing too. I love your pose all dressed for dinner with your shades on! ha ha!
Please post more pics.
I've decided to 'do my day' when I'm travelling to Thailand which will be on 30th of this month!
Tilly, that was a brilliant idea.

You look so smart in that suit. The outside pics of Winnipeg reminds of the time I spend there some years back.

What a great post, Imec, and I totally love how you worked in "A Day in the Life"!
Yeeeek -- dark, cold, brrrr. You tell that young lady to put on a hat! The bread looks good and so real. Haha -- "Stubble burning draws fire" -- they're almost as inspired as you are! "Just take the picture, dammit!" (the pic after your dress shirt) That's a crime to tear down that airport! It seems it could be put to a multitude of different uses. I seldom think an airport is pretty, but that one is extremely pleasant. Hey ~~ I could get used to that level of flying quality! Really, going in style like that must make traveling for work less arduous. Nice digs! Whoa! Are you auditioning for the Secret Service? Scary! Handsome, but scary.
TOTAL FUN, Imec -- thanks!

Thanks everyone!
I took all the pics myself, btw (not that they're much good - more for documentation purposes than artistic value) - used the self timer to take the ones of meself.
As for the airport, there's some hope that it might be rescued to be used as the new home for the local aviation museum, but I'm minimally optimistic.

Most digicams have them and they're usually very easy to use. Let me know if you need help getting yours to work

I love the look of the airport, too. In Paris, they saved Le Bourget airport building which dates from 1935. It houses the aerospace museum.

I love your Day in the Life Imec! The second picture made me feel very sleepy... Thank you for taking up my idea I had totally forgotten about it How come Miss I is at the pool so much, does she go everyday? Is she on a swimming team or training? Swimming is great, I wish I had as much dedication as she does You inspired me to take some pictures of my journey to work today which I will post later. PS. Now that song is an earworm going round and round my head
