Bixa that looks excellent. Each time you repot you can raise it a little further.

Would that mean that it only blooms once a year? In any case, it is lovely.

I don't know that Aloe, Mick -- it's a beauty. I love the way you grew it to feature its good lines. Look at that little Ariocarpus go! I love the contrast of the ladylike pink bloom on the weathered looking plant. Bixa that looks excellent. Each time you repot you can raise it a little further. Thank you, Mick, & thanks for the surprising advice. I thought I had been quite bold raising it that much!

This beautifully coloured Aloe is Aloe cameronii. I have had for many years and it was actually bought back as a little plant by a friend visiting Rhodesia! It wasn’t even Zimbabwe then.

I am so much enjoying all your pictures of this family in flower, Mick, especially since the different types often have very similar foliage. (Is it still called "foliage" when it's a stem-like part of a succulent?) Bragging about this plant because it shows how grateful it became. It was in a pot and all lanky with just the occasional flower. I put it in the ground in this bed, where it gets quite a lot of sun starting from in the morning. Happy, right?
