Htmb, it got the interesting gray/silver accents on the tips, but didn't bring out the white crisply enough.

The ones in #2018 & 2019 look like pets!
A. parryi is easily one of the most beautiful of the Agaves.

You know I think Stapeliads are wonderful, but that Haworthia is drop-dead gorgeous.

I am soooo excited and proud, as I have literally been waiting years for this to bloom. The parent plant was in the ground & rotted badly. I scavenged some pieces & attempted to root them. I waited ages -- seriously, a good ten years -- and finally got a rooted plant. That one was a siamese twin and, in attempting to separate it, I killed the twin. Anyway, today, which is mothers' day where I'm from (US), the precious darling bloomed for me. I couldn't be happier! I believe it to be thecactusking.com/plants/african-succulents/pachypodium-lealii-var-saundersii, which I think is called "kudu lily" where Tod lives.

Well done Bixa! It's always exciting when a plant blooms for the first time. The dinosaur manure probably helped...
You are a top gardener!

These arrived from Norway last Tuesday. Seedlings of Pseudolithos migiurtinus and cubiforme. Very difficult to grow. Wish me luck!

Oooo ~ snaky science fiction-y fun! Guess what I was given yesterday. A Cereus forbesii 'Spiralis'! Actually, I tried not to accept it. A friend of mine bought it for himself after he moved here from Colombia. He'd had a large, beautiful specimen there which lived outdoors. Anyway, he managed to get a baby one at a shocking price several months ago. It was so little that my secret thought was that he might have been cheated, since it was impossible to tell what it really was. So yesterday he brought it over & said it needed to live with me in full sunlight, as he's in an apartment. Online it says that young ones like bright light but not sunlight. Certainly his seems to have thrived, as it's several inches tall now & has a pronounced spiral. It's in a cut-off yogurt container with a few holes in the bottom. Since we had a big storm yesterday & I spent today dealing with the aftermath, I have not done anything with my new little friend yet.
