Very striking last bit of daylight. What would I give to go back 60 years for just a few days with my current camera

Thank you, Mossie. What really stood out to my eye was the planet in the middle of the picture. I'm not sure if it's Venus. Any ideas?

Venus is the best guess as it is normally the most obvious, often called the evening star.

Fab both Rikita and Kerouac! Rikita your last photo looks as if smoke is rising from a fire in the grass and made to look even more dramatic by the sinking sun - Wonderful!
Kerouac, the figures at the pinnacle of each turret really show up against the evening sky - are we looking at the roof of Saint-Chapelle?? Notre Dame?? None of those??

Tod, all will be revealed shortly in a report about a different country.

yes, there is smoke, though not from the grass. not really sure where the smoke came from, but it was some faraway point in the forest.

Some interesting sunsets lately, as there is a lot of smoke from fires in Idaho.

Rikita, your picture #457 is so beautiful and delicate.
Kimby, I love your otherworldly #461.

Yes, Kimby, 461 is superb

Thanks, folks.
Mr. Kimby noticed the sky and was kind enough to summon me to see it, or I'd have missed it. If cameras used film anymore, I'd be broke from all the sunset photos I'm shooting at the lake.

There are so many different versions of gorgeous skies in this thread! -------- First Cedar Key sunset for September.

Yes I echo what Htmb said above. All beautiful.
I particularly love the #461 by Kimby - such an unusual sky. The woman leaving the golden glow on the water in by Questa, and the subtle sunsets by K2 and Rikita.
Really lovely capture, with the reflection on the water, Htmb

What an amazing page of images! They're all exceptional. Questa, your 3rd picture grabbed me first for its beauty, then grew on me even more for the composition and the delicacy of the colors and textures. Htmb, your photo is just plain saturated gorgeousness.
