thanks bixa. That is a pretty small stream by the way, perhaps not deserving of "mighty".

That's quite lovely, but I assume from the little signs stuck in the ground promise a bit more vegetation in warmer seasons.

The larger lake is "our" lake, we are on the far side of the second peninsula. The smaller lake has cross-country ski trails near it. The foreground is our local ski area. This was taken from the air (obviously) as we flew to Denver.

bixa, what dammed this little pool? Beavers?

;D Kimby, your question should probably read, "What damned this little pool?"
Believe it or not, that's a road and the river permanently flows across it. There was some dubious engineering done on it a couple of years ago which made a giant mess. Apparently they've now decided to go with the flow, as it were. There is a pedestrian bridge a few yards away from the section in the picture. The photo was taken the equivalent of a block away from the Charlies' house.

It just turned out that way and made me wonder if impressionism isn't impressionistic at all but that things really look that way sometimes.

Maybe "god" is the impressionist! And kerouac just documents her efforts!

You make me blush kimby. All I do is point and shoot. I don't even have good equipment.

Isn't the new camera equipment great? But I think having a good eye might be instinctive, so that when you point and shoot you are making good choices that are reflected in the end result.

That Red Sea shot is stellar, Amboseli. and would look nice on the Circles photo thread as well At first all I saw was the sailing vessel. Then I noticed the small boats in the foregroung. I'd like to see this a bit larger and on the Boats thread.

@ Kimby I don't have it bigger. It's a scan of an old photo. I have a few new ones for the boats thread, though.

What a delight! How lucky to have a swan so near and able to watch the little signets take to the water behind mama! I hope they are not eaten by something sniffling around. Would otters grab one? On our local pond the new hatchlings soon disappear as the huge barble fish snap them from below.
Lovely photos Mick!

Cats and foxes on the bank from time to time. I'll look out the pictures of her brood from last year.
