I can't compete even if I wanted to. The only frost here is on the freshly tapped beer glasses.
Good ones, Imec. ;D

So that's hoarfrost then? We don't get that here. Freezing rain that leaves the branches glazed, yes.

What absolutely stunning pictures, Paris! Yes, yes, I know you have a new camera, but it was the person behind the camera who made those so good. Is it whiny to say I wish they were bigger?

Thanks, everyone! I spent nearly all day yesterday capturing as much cool stuff as I could, uploading, emailing the local TV stations (which used my pic of the bridge), posting online, then, when the sun came out just before it set, I was astounded at the lighting. So I rushed around again, trying to get all that beauty. Whew!
Is it too late, bixa, to make these bigger,or should I go to the posting pix workshop and see for myself? ;D

Thanks, imec! I like that one, too. The zoom on my camera is amazing! Feels like you're right down there next to the water. I especially like the deer tracks going down for a drink!

I was driving north today, and this was the landscape. My little rental Smart was probably cross with me for stopping for no reason to take a few pictures.

Oh ~~ I haven't looked at this in a long time. I'm so glad it's been brought back up -- it would be nice to keep all the winter pictures together. Spindrift, I must have missed your picture. It's beautifully composed and imparts so much information within the framework of an excellent photograph. Kerouac -- ! They're all great pictures, but I adore the first two. They are wonderful mood pieces and pass my personal criteria of "I'd like this framed on my wall!".

;D, Lola!
Imec, the etching quality of these photos just blows me away. And you caught so many aspects of this wintry beauty, from the stark contrasts of limbs, white frost, and deep blue sky, to the equally beautiful subtlety of varying pales (#4, in particular). Wonderful!

Not frost exactly, but ice. Is there a thread for ice? (taken March 21st. There's still a little ice lining the edges of this creek...)
