Hm. I've never seen one of those.
Is there a place to click "no thanks" or similar?
I looked at Proboards Support & no one has registered any complaints about a repetitive pop-up.
If you can't get rid of it, post again & we'll report it.

It had an x close option which I hit, only to have it return,pop up again and again.
They must really want my opinion.

It's been reported. In the meantime, try using the x close option, then emptying your cache.

Occasionally ( x3 I think ) when I try to reply to posts I do not have access to all the icons / buttons above the message box eg those that allow me to quote, post a photo, url, add a smiley or link to you tube etc

lugg, it sounds like you are getting a "quick reply" box instead of the full reply box, which you should be able to get by clicking on the "reply" button at the bottom right of a thread. All the buttons and features should be available to you if you use that option.

Yes, everything is available in Reply, but we're supposed to be able to have most of the buttons in Quick Reply, too. This doesn't need a work-around, this needs fixing.

On my office computer, often all of the smileys were not displaying as tools although they would display in messages. And I could use them anyway just by mousing over the red X until I found the correct name.
And then other times, everything would display normally. I never figured out why.

I use IE 9 -
The problem has only happened twice . I cannot remember if it was on Quick reply or just reply but I do know that normally I get the icons ( albeit less choice on quick reply ) on both
No I never log on at work - I am lucky if I get chance for a cuppa ;D and anyway the security around the systems at work would never allow it .

Is it just me or is my computer whacky? I keep seeing these little boxes with "this image is down. Sorry, we're working on it. Photobucket. So bizarre!!!
I'll take a pic of it and post. They are everywhere I go on the board, even when scrolling!!!

I'm not seeing them today, but they were all over the place last night, & not just on this forum. It must be some kind of Photobucket problem. The "we're working on it" part is encouraging. Are you still seeing them?

It affects images hosted by photobucket. Try emptying your cache, as I suspect the problem has been fixed by now.

Or more simply, if it's the browser calling up a temp file (likely) you can do what's called a "hard refresh" which is simply pressing the F5 and Ctrl key simultaneously. This forces the page and all associated files to reload which simply hitting the browser's 'Refresh" button won't necessarily.

I always wondered if it was possible, when you send an email, to find out if it was opened. I don't need this info particularly, but it was something that I thought about over the years when I sent something important only to be told later that it wasn't received. I'd check sent files and see one was sent and that I didn't receive a 'mailer demon' mail saying the address didn't exist but there was nothing more I could do apart from accept their word for it. Then I got to thinking, what if it was important, maybe in a business situation, that that info was available - even to the point of presenting it in a Court of Law? Then my imagination began to run riot and I thought, what if I just want that person to see the mail but only that person and it couldn't be forwarded or printed off for circulation? - a self destructing email? Or maybe track a PDF document attached? Even know where the person was when they opened it? Or any subsequent person who it was forwarded to? What about retracting a sent email? Could that be done? And all done without the recipient knowing it was being done. The possibilities were endless. As a private person I have no need for all this, but it is possible that in a business situation the records of all this information, or any part of it, could well be useful. Microsoft Outlook always asks you when you receive a message that requests receipt notification if you accept to send acknowledgment of not. And my Orange webmail asks me if I want to mark emails that I have read as being unread.
As to whether these options are reliable or not, I have no idea, but I often refuse to send acknowledgment, even when I reply to the message.

In versions of Outlook I have used, that option could be turned on/off.
It's something I detest, and I often do not respond to others when asked to send a receipt notification either. It's annoying as anything, especially when messages are about something trivial.

I'm looking for advice about personal financial software for a new model Mac. Nothing fancy or expensive. Just something I can use to keep track of my spending, plot a budget, create reports, etc. I've used Quicken for PC for years, but the Quicken for Mac reviews are far, far from encouraging. Almost every one I've read has said the Mac software is horrible. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
