does that happen to others too? what is behind this? every now and then, on this forum and i think also on another proboards forum, instead of getting to the part of the site i want to get to, i suddenly find myself in front of a "log into facebook" site. and i have to click "back" several times very fast to get out of it...

I hope everyone to whom this is happening will report it here. Please include which browser(s) you were using when it occurred.

A question from the the person at Proboards Support:
Can they duplicate it 100% of the time on the last page on your forum they were on or does it only come up every now and then?

With me, it seems to happen after I have signed in and try to click on a branch. Sometimes, instead of taking me to the list of threads, it takes me to Facebook. But it has only happened once this morning out of about six times I've wandered back to the computer.

ah, thanks for moving it. sorry i posted it as an OP, i hadn't read in here so hadn't realized it was already discussed (but was quite confused for a moment where my post had gone, hehe...) btw, it happened only on firefox so far, for me...

No help so far. The only "good" news is that now another person is reporting the problem from another proboards forum. He says that he visited anyport & encountered the re-direct and that members and visitors are getting it on his forum. He also said that it appears only to be affecting people in France, Germany, and Switzerland.

Kerouac, was that still in IE? (quote below asks about ff, even though it was reported that the problem also occurred in ie)
This is the response to the complaints from two forums (anyport & one other). The other person reporting the same problem (ff user) says that it's almost impossible to access his forum right now because of it.
Well, at the moment, it is a matter of finding out why they are being redirected. It could be a number of things. Interestingly, that second member says they only get redirected in firefox. Have they browsed using an alternate browser for a period of time? Do the other people having the issue all use firefox to? It could be their connection which is causing the redirect, that this is happening to people in continental europe could point to that. Does it happen on any other site they visit?

Yes, I use IE for most navigation. (I use Chrome for Photobucket and YouTube.)

just a quick reply: so far I didn't come around to test other browsers than ff, yet even when the bug was there, it could be 'fixed' by 'return' and just a new attempt, i.e. I still had access to all branches/threads - to me these incidents seemed wholly erratic and unrepeatable. didn't happen anywhere else than apias, and yes, this is mainland Europe. hope this helps.

Another person reported the redirect problem. She is not in Europe, but in Quebec. The other non-anyport person who complained is in France, as is Kerouac. The problem also affected some people in Switzerland, parts of which use French. I believe both Rikita and Nautiker speak French, so it seems obvious that the redirect is triggered by Francophonia. Please desist.
Don't laugh -- that's as good as any advice we've gotten from Proboards Support so far.
Over in Support, some people are reporting dwindling incidences of the redirect, or that it has stopped. Anyone here still having trouble?

I believe both Rikita and Nautiker speak French, so it seems obvious that the redirect is triggered by Francophonia. naah, that would be too blatantly obvious a reason - don't you think? maybe it's francophilia? ;D no problems today.

Great, y'all ~~ thanks for checking in! maybe it's francophilia? Hee hee! Maybe I was immune to the problem because I'm an anglophile? My biggest problem would be crumpet crumbs in the keyboard.

I got one redirection but more often a "site inaccessible" message from Cloudflare. The refresh button solves the problem.

still happens, same computers as mentioned before (i.e. different versions of windows), both when logged in or logged out.

Cloudflare is telling me more and more often that I cannot see pages here. Usually one 'refresh' will fix the problem, but sometimes it is persistent.

oh, it's firefox again. I admit I can't be bothered to download other browsers, I'm not going to switch because of this slight inconvenience. consider this settled, I'll give a shout in case something extraordinary happens.

Well, you shouldn't have to download another browser for this kind of reason. My computer hates Chrome and I hate IE, so it's Firefox for me.
Another person (in Germany, uses Firefox but has not tested other browsers) on the Support forum is reporting the same problems.
