A question as regards Yahoo Mail -
All of a sudden in my Inbox I now have headings for dates/months for the emails in there. There is a date on the right side for each individual mail but now I have headings like 'Yesterday', 'Last Week', 'Earlier in May'. Anyone else? And can I get rid of them?

Does anyone else have a recipe for some kind of tortilla soup showing up in their Quick Reply space at the bottom of the page? It's showing up every thread I go to.

This is what fumobici and I are looking at: I have ad blocker and I never see any ads. I can't figure out what this is selling.

Well, whatever it was, it has disappeared and we are left with that wierd ubbc icon instead.
I thought it was bixa subliminally trying to get us to eat Mexican soup.

We've been having trouble with our wifi lately: slow, and would leave us hanging and cut in and out. It doesn't help that we are 3 blocks from some serious radio towers. I read something about perhaps switching our router from the 2.4GHz channel to the 5GHz, because it is used less. We did, and guess what, it's way faster and more stable. Yay!

I don't know how this happened but, somehow the font on my screen is literally microscopic and I don't know how to adjust it back to a readable size. HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Is it a monitor resolution issue?
Have you tried turning the PC off and on again? (That's always my first line of defense when computer issues rear their ugly heads.)
If that doesn't help, you could try doing a system restore to a time when it WAS working well.

Press the 'Ctrl' key and at the same time rotate your scroll wheel up or if you don't have a scroll wheel, press Ctrl and the numeral zero.

What other keyboard shortcut fixes do you know, fumobici? That fix is so elegantly simple!

Also, Ctrl and - (minus) makes the font smaller. Ctrl and + (plus) makes the font bigger.

Are those Windows or Mac fixes, or universal? And Mark, is that using the number pad or the regular keyboard + and - ? Or either?

I'm still having weird keyboard problems on a laptop. Basically, I cannot use my keyboard because of parasitic letters that throw themselves into the mix for certain letters. For example, when I type "i" I get "ki" ; "p" gives me "p)" -- and the letter "e" is the worst because if I type an "e" not only does it not appear, but it erases everything written up until then. (Luckily, that happens very quickly rather than at the end of a long post.)
It's not just an internet problem because it happens on Word as well.
And yet in certain 'reply' boxes on certain sites, I can type with no problem at all. (You might wonder why I even keep trying with a problem like that, but it is because I sometimes forget which computer I am using.)
It's very hard to Google the problem to look for solutions because it's difficult to explain. And most people with parasitic letters get told "just clean your keyboard -- it's because of all of the crud that has fallen between the keys." I would have been ready to believe that if it were not for those other 'reply' boxes where I can type properly.
Naturally, rebooting or restoring the system have not worked at all.

Now I am really getting paranoid because I typed the above message in 'quick reply' and it was refused twice with a weird message 'possible forgery - error 4'. But when I used 'reply' instead of 'quick reply' it worked. WTF?

Could it be something in your keyboard settings, or language selection?

Looking at Google again, I reinstalled my keyboard language settings but to no avail.
Obviously, I have been worried about some sort of virus, but a complete virus scan turned up nothing.
Now what is really strange is that a little while ago I was trying to reply to an email (one of the things that makes me forget that I am on the wrong computer), and the reply had no problems at all at first other than a delay for a letter or two. Then after typing the dreaded "e" again, I got a box asking me "do you really want to close this screen?" But I plodded on and it seemed successful until another "e" closed everything down automatically and erased my message.
I think I am going to be making a call to my old office computer technician Tahar, who is a nice guy and is sure to help me even though he moved on to other things a few years ago. He is the person who came to my apartment to install the computer that I am using at the moment, which has always worked perfectly except for the blue screen of death one time only in 4 years.

Are those Windows or Mac fixes, or universal? And Matk, is that using the number pad or the regular keyboard + and - ? Or either? I can only say for windows and a keyboard, as that is what I mostly use.

K2, Windows has an on screen keyboard. Can you access that and see if there is the same problem?

The keyboard language setting was my first guess too. Do you use French or English keyboard maps by default? Assuming the computer in question is a PC, best case it's a hardware issue with your keyboard and you can simply buy and plug in a new cheap keyboard and all will be well (such problems can be a nightmare on a notebook/laptop). Another possibility: have you upgraded your OS recently? It could be a driver incompatibility issue.

No, it is a laptop. I am still fiddling with little things here and there, because I am almost certain that I did it to myself by accidentally hitting some sort of key combination with the function keys.
OMG, I just ran upstairs to try chimpanzee style typing and I think I fixed the damned thing by hitting F10 or F11.

Well, I will do most of my typing downstairs for the moment. I can still surf the internet upstairs if I don't have to write anything.

Kerouac, did that problem ever get fixed?
I am sending out an SOS here: does anyone understand how OneDrive works?
The laptop I took with me on my trip has very little space on it, so I was moving the photos I loaded on it into OneDrive.
Now I am home & told my regular, bigger computer to sync in OneDrive. However, when I check on the big laptop, only one of the ten files I moved from the little laptop to OneDrive has any pictures in it. But if I look at OneDrive on the little computer, all the pictures in all the files show up. It would be much better for me to get into those pictures and work with them on the big computer.
I now have both laptops turned on & have told OneDrive on both of them to sync. Sometimes when I glance at the big computer, the OneDrive screen says "Downloading" for a few seconds, but then changes to "All files are up to date", with The nine files which were empty still empty. The little computer is telling me that OneDrive is "Uploading 218.2 MB of 5.7 GB (3% done)". The one file that did have pictures in it on the big laptop now has its thumbnail photo changing as OneDrive continues to tell me "Downloading/All files are up to date". What gives?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hmmmm. Writing this @ an hour after the previous post. Now one of the empty files on the big laptop is showing photos in it! I'm thinking I need to leave both laptops on all night to see if they'll finally finish syncing.

Kerouac, did that problem ever get fixed? No, I still have the problem. Every now and then, I manage to "fix" the problem for about half an hour, and then it comes back.
