I am so grateful for all the input here! Mark - I see FROGS! If only I could register a DOMAIN name - I don't have one. How do I get one? That seems to be what Imageshack are demanding. Until then the frog plague persists!

I see frogs again now but earlier it was the pictures, before that, the frogs. So I'm not going to fiddle around with my computer, I'll just leave it a while and see what happens.

tod, after a bit of looking around it seems the latest thoughts on this problem are that it is country related. Some countries are blocked, some not.

If I use a proxy server (explanation if needed) I can now see the images. This to me proves it is just country related and nothing to do with me or you.

Mark - Fiddling won't help....believe me - how I have fiddled and fiddled ;D I have had a suggestion by a friend who builds/fixes/etc. computers. I have a business domain ( first I know about it) that he suggests I use. I will have to ask my son if this is possible as he will have to do the necessary 'fiddling' Oh, what a thing to happen - I wonder what Imageshack were thinking......

I would imagine that a lot of the photo hosting sites never imagined that so many photos would be uploaded by so many millions of people around the world -- so they are having severe growing pains.
Anyway, my office computer does not allow viewing the photos of any of the photo hosting sites -- except for the one that bjd uses -- so I can't check anything for the next several hours.

Just found out we do not have a domain name anylonger at the office - so that's that. I am trying another tack so maybe will get lucky!

If they are blocking by country a solution is to use a proxy server, unless you log on. Maybe there is another solution, but I'm not sure yet.

I was just told that your domain is your internet provider. That does not sound right to me, but maybe it's worth a shot. However, if they're blocking by country, then even if that's correct, it would not solve the problem..

Good luck with this Tod. How very frustrating. Although, I have to say, you've given us enough fodder in pictures to sate us for a long, long time, and I'm so grateful to you for taking the time to share them with us. A magnificent contribution unrivaled by any I've seen anywhere.

I have had more people trying to sort out the problem but a suggestion was made that they are not running anylonger and have lost their server??? does not seem good. How can we find out more through Anyport - or is it not their concern?

Hi Tod -- I just PMed you, but this is just to let you know that Anyport is trying to find a solution, but so far no one knows anything useful.

My fingers are crossed. I really can't imagine why they would do such a thing. Jealousy?

YAY!!! Yesterday morning I was pleasantly surprised when my photos all started appearing again The frogs have gone and the little red-crossed squares slowly turn to photos. I have no idea who is responsible for the switch back to normality but to test it even further I posted my last photo which I was saving to end the essay and it loaded and appeared without a hitch! I am so relieved and thank whoever managed to rectify the situation!!

Wow, I've been away a few days (weeks?) and missed the whole thing.
All my pictures are on imageshack, and I'm wondering if they all became red x boxes or frogs while I was away.

I doubt it, Kimby, as imageshack.us didn't seem to be affected. That is probably the imageshack you have. What's really strange is that during the time Tod couldn't see her photos, many of the rest of us could still see them.
Mark, are your imageshack pics visible to you yet?

What the blankety-blank HELL is going on with Photobucket?!
It's been doing its maintenance thing since last night, for crying out loud. I have a thread to make. Does that not matter to them?!

PLEASE NOTE:
Anyport has a function that is supposed to show the first unread post in a thread.
At the moment, this is not working. Until we get it fixed, please remember to check back along the thread for where the posts you have not yet seen start.
Thanks.

I think the problem mentioned in the previous post is fixed now. If anyone finds that it's not, please let me know. Thanks. I need some help, please. I want to completely remove the "Open in a New Tab" listing from the right-click menu. I loaded the ff add-on "menu editor" and tried it. The add-on says it's working, but when I right click, I see the same old thing. I hate tabs, so help me before I snap. Please. (Chocolates have been left in the happy thread, not that I'm targeting anyone in particular )
