Commuting

I have never owned a car in my life and probably never will. But I had a rental car today which I need for this weekend, so I decided to drive to the office.
The weather was not quite the best ever this morning.
Passing through Place de Clichy...
... on through boulevard des Batignolles and boulevard de Courcelles...
... finally up avenue de Wagram to go around the Arc de Triomphe...
... and then down the Champs Elysées to my office.
The weather had improved by the time it was time to leave the office. Just about all of my photographs were taken at red lights. The first one I hit was on the Champs Elysées just before the Arc. I guess that some commuter routes are uglier.
Then it was back down avenue de Wagram.
I really hate being stuck behind big fat trucks that are not transparent. And I have never yet seen a transparent truck!
Finally a glimpse of the Sacré Coeur as I approach metro Villiers.
Damned truck!
Back to Place de Clichy, which was quite congested as expected.
I got a chance to check out what was playing at the Pathé.
Then it was up rue Caulaincourt and into Montmartre, which is the fastest way to get home.
Hey, there's where I have to turn left to go to Jules Joffrin...
... and then down off the hill.
Hey, there's the little Montmartre tourist train without a single empty seat.
And here we are at Jules Joffrin, with the church across from the town hall of the 18th arrondissement.
The last part of the trip was along rue Ordener. The traffic was terrible, even if you can't really tell. Nothing was moving.
My gaze wandered to the sides of the street. These little groceries are called 'the Moroccan' or 'the Arab' even if a lot of them are now operated by Chinese families.
When I arrive at the grafitti wall, I am almost home.
Gee, I'm glad I don't have a car!

Just one last stretch across the railway bridge and I'm home.
