Wow ~ those are amazing! I had to look twice at the second one to realize that it's not a real human. They really work as art, too, and are perfect in that setting. will they be there permanently?

They will be removed by August 15th.
The hyper realistic sculptures are made by the American artist Carole Feuerman.

Great that beach goers have such fun and cheerful art brought to them!

Hyper realistic statues are always a bit disturbing (in addition to being fascinating), no matter what the context.

Lafontaine's canine is very slim, though.

That is the hungry fox before getting the camembert in the bird's beak right in front of him.

W-a-y back on page 12, #347, Patrick found a cheerful chappie. His name is Ho-Tei and is a Buddhist monk of the 12th century. He became a Buddha and is said to be the future Buddha. His statues always show him fat to indicate that in the future there will be plenty of food. Usually shown with children...future of families. Long ear lobes = sign of a Buddha. Ho-tei often has a large pearl in his lap. Given his navel is a neat round mark above the carving, I still don't know what it is. Page 13 has a statue of Kuan Yin, aka Kan-non. She is the female emanation of the Buddha and known for healing powers

Okay yes, an amusing picture, but also photographically great. Love the composition and the subtle colors along with the contrast of light and shadow.

It also indicates that the pigeons are less bothered by the people in the Jardin Nelson Mandela in Les Halles, which has been invaded by throngs of people in the past. In the past, people -- and especially their children -- were crawling all over this head to take photos. I haven't seen a single person taking photos of this since the end of confinement.

This is not one of the best statues of Balzac. The one by Rodin or even the one on Balzac's tomb in Père Lachaise are better. I had never seen noticed this statue of Baron Haussmann before, yet it is on Boulevard Haussmann.

Love that shiny gorilla in profile.
That is an impressive and alarming knife angel statue! Great photos, Lugg.
