I just learned today that 90% of Siamese twins are female.

Interesting. Biochemically I wonder why this is.

I read a fictonal account of female siamese twins. It was a good read and raised some interesting points/questions about life being so close to someone and of course it feeling completely normal (if not easy) as that is all they have known. It is called "The Girls" by Lori Lansen. There were siamese twins in a village called Biddenden not too far from me in 1100. They are still a very strong part of local legend 900 years later! www.phreeque.com/mary_eliza.html

That makes me wonder if any real life Siamese twins have ever written a book.

Oh heck ~~ let's admit how voyeuristic we really are! Click on pictures for related stories. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These sisters made a video on the occasion of their 16th birthday in an attempt to deflect curiosity. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This has more scientific information, and is pretty depressing. You will feel a lot luckier in your life after viewing any of the above.
