You didn't think to use your selfie stick?

Wash your mouth out young lady. Two inventions should never have been..... errr...... invented. Atomic bombs and selfie sticks. Someone ought to collect all the selfie sticks, drop them down a hole and blow them up with the last functioning atomic bomb after the rest have been decommissioned.

I saw the thread but forgot about the selfie thing. I see we are in agreement. I take delight in standing behind people who are using them to block out their view of the sight. I seem to get many scowls.

Excellent and interesting photos all. I have recently become a fan of the selfie but only when in a group - is that a groupie ? Today I visited Salisbury Cathedral had what was probably one of the best opportunities I have ever had to contribute really good photo to this thread - unfortunately a) I was in a rush and b) only had a pocket camera but the actual experience blew me away even though I am not particularly religious. Next time I visit I will do better hopefully.

Thanks Htmb - this might help, reflections within the cathedral font designed for the cathedral's 750th anniversary in 2008

Just one 4-year-old splashing around along the edge, and those pictures never would have existed.

Lovely, lovely pictures Lugg. That is a great design for the font -- it marries nicely with the building.

Great shots, but that font is far too large, looks big enough to drown the little so-and-sos in.

My daughter did keep telling me to be careful - she thought I would either drop my camera or end up baptising myself.
