Thanks so much, Mossie! Actually, the picture is in color but taken on one of those glary overcast days which sort of white out the sky, plus the fountain is gray.

You really froze time with that shot! What a very splashy fountain that is.

And they provide recliners so you can soak up both the sun and the ozone or ions or whatever it is that the falls are supposed to improve your health with. My blog | My photos | My video clips"too literate to be spam"

I wonder who the original inventor of those pavement fountains is, since they have spread around the globe.

I just hope that it was not caused by Alpine snow melt that will never be seen again.

Well captured Kerouac - those rats are incredibly intelligent I'm told.

What surprised was to see them on a Wallace fountain -- they are wary and don't like confined spaces.

Hopefully the disturbing redness of the background is due to post-production shenanigams and not the real color of that building!

Hopefully the disturbing redness of the background is due to post-production shenanigams and not the real color of that building! No, the Parc de la Villette indeed has 26 red "folies" spread geometrically though the park. blogarchiphotos.com/les-folies-du-parc-de-la-villette/

Can't believe someone would not like those clever and cheerful red constructions! Thanks for that link explaining what they are.
The way the red is a backdrop to the white & greenish grays in Kerouac's picture makes for a most satisfying photograph.

I had to try to get this in before 95% of the fountains of Paris are turned off for the winter.

I don't associate "old stuff" much with that park.

It's the lion fountain at Porte de Pantin in front of the old cattle building (now "La Grande Halle de la Villette").
