Thursday 1 October 2009 (12 Shawwal 1430) Egyptian flogged for perverted behavior Arab News — JEDDAH: A court found an Egyptian tailor guilty of groping a young Saudi woman while taking her measurements and handed him 60 lashes.
A court source, who does not want to be named, told Arab News that the tailor did not object to the ruling, which was finalized following the approval of the Court of Cassation in Makkah.
He said the woman’s father took the case to the police, accusing the Egyptian of deliberately touching his daughter’s sensitive parts while taking measurements for a dress.
The man was questioned about the incident and his case was referred to the Prosecution and Investigation Commission, which took the case to court.
The court said the man was “guilty beyond doubt” and ordered the flogging to be done in one sitting. The court also took a written pledge from the woman’s father that his daughter would never go alone to tailor shops run by men.
-------
Let us not forget that women are never emancipated in Saudi Arabia. They go from their father's control to their husband's control.

A lot can be gleaned about the moral state of a culture from the way it treats its youngest and oldest, its sick and poor, prisoners, animals, visible minorities, those who hold unpopular views- and of course how respectfully women are treated.

How could the situation get so out- of- hand? Where were her male relatives? Shouldn't they also be flogged for not taking care of her properly?
Now what's that all about? Has he already been flogged so that he doesn't object? How come his embassy doesn't get involved?
