Tofu = The devil's phlegm!
I would rather eat cous cous.

If tofu is the devil's phlegm, cous cous is the devil's bile.

I have never understood those tree-hugging vegetarians who serve couscous semolina all by itself as though it were edible. When I think of 'couscous' I think of the full dish, of which the semolina is only a very minor part.

After refusing to touch cous cous for the last 29 odd years that does look enticing. I had it three times a week in Algiers as a demi- pensionnaire... Can you imagine what a food fight with cous cous looks like?

Haters of tofu AND cous cous? Oh my...
What makes rice so awesome?
Personally, I prefer quinoa...

Hey, I'm all for tofu. Had a nice dish last night, couldn't take any pics because I'd left the memory card in the office.
Jack is the stubborn tofu hater!

Hey, I'm the one who titled this thread "Giving tofu another chance"! I don't refuse to eat it; I just don't see the point. However, I think we need to find some sort of tapioca style dish for BigIain using only tofu and couscous grain as the ingredients, just so that he will know what he will be eating every day in hell.

Don't forget finely chopped cucumber too!
As I have said before, I don't think I have ever tried a properly cooked tofu or cous cous dish. I may try making spicy soup with pre-fried tofu sometime soon. I make a lot of spicy soups during the cold and flu season to give my system the occasional jolt!
Edited: I imagine a food fight with cous cous would be like being in a snowstorm???

It has a bit of tofu and is good hearty cold weather fare. If you like it, it's not too hard to make at home.

Strangely enough, I haven't enjoyed any tofu I've had at Chinese restaurants... excepting, of course, the deliciousness of deep fried tofu.
