on the weekend of 20th. I am rather nervous about her visit.
A friend and I have arranged a lunch and day out on 20th followed by supper at my place. On 21st we'll take her to the local Krishnamurti ashram for lunch and quiet contemplation then perhaps some teachings...then supper back at mine again.
I'll have to be on my best behaviour and I'm wondering whether she'll rise at 4.30am and if so, what will I do?
She will leave on the Sunday.
I forgot to mention that she is disabled.

I had to lodge a friend's brother for over a week once. He was returning to California via Europe after spending nine months in some Indian sect. I just left him the whole upper level of my flat and didn't worry about it. After a few days, he decided that he had to go to Morocco for some reason. While he was away, of course I went upstairs and all sorts of weird transformations had been done with an altar and a photo of his guru in the middle of it. Then he returned, packed up and left, never to be heard from again.

Spindrift, I have friends who are Maryknoll nuns. They are just like everyone else in things they like to do -- see the sights, eat local food, etc.

Yes...it will surely be interesting. I've known her for about 3 years.
She has introduced me to the abbot of a monastery in Dehradun...and I am hoping to go there with her one of these days. She is always talking of settlling in Bhutan. I'd like to go there too! The possibilities are endless.

Some friends of mine entertained some Tibetan monks that were in town a couple of years ago. My friends went all out preparing all these elaborate exotic dishes. The monks really wanted local , American cuisine.

Hi spindrift, let us know how it goes!I'm sure she'll love your stay with you. And if she rises at 4:30 am, let her meditate a round before waking you...
The fact that she's female makes it easier. I had some monks stay with me some years ago in my flat, it was a little disruptive. We were not supposed to wear tank tops or shorts, and it was 35+ degrees. So me and my room mates were trying to keep everything covered at all times, a tall order at those temperatures and in the morning before work. It was still fun.

She has just phoned me to say she'll be with me by 10:30 am tomorrow. I'm afraid I asked her not to arrive earlier than this. She's quite bossy in her way. We are going out tomorrow to a fellow Buddhist's house for lunch and then teachings. I've already prepared our supper for tomorrow night. I wonder whether she knows your teacher? Please PM me his name and I'll ask her. She was in the monastery at Kathmandu but she knows Dharamsala as well as other Buddhist centres in Bhutan etc. Interesting.
