In last Sunday's Times, they claim that this lady has not thrown a single item away in three years. If that's true, she's my new hero! schweisguth.org/~melissa/

Hmmm... that would depend on one's definition of "throwing away," wouldn't it? For example, does she flush the toilet, or does she retain everything?

My question was about packaging. Surely she is forced to buy items occasionally that come in wasteful wrapping. Maybe anything recycled was not counted as being thrown away.

They gave one example: she aparently sews the sweets wrappers into bags and offers them to her friends.

I am just citing the article, bix! I am not too keen on the fact that she's got businesses linked to marketing as well as sustainability, but I do know one or two people who actually have ethics and are business people who think about sustainability first.

I wasn't being critical of the lady, Anniekins, just wishing I knew exactly what not throwing anything away meant.
