I believe he is still in Viet Nam, although probably champing at the bit to get home and transplant and photograph his pepper plants. I guess he's off the hook for now then

Growing hot peppers here, like growing tomatoes is a real challenge given the lack of Summer heat. I can sort of grow green jalapenos and the like and a few varieties of tomato but that's about it. Radishes are I think the easiest edible plant I've ever grown here.

Well, it's full, hot summer in much of the world right now. Is anyone growing chiles, hot, medium, or mild?
Some of my little starts didn't make it through the dry season, but a couple of others are now in the ground enjoying the wonderful rains we've had this year. I've also found a robust volunteer in the unwelcoming soil of an Adenum obesum.

I grew Chillis for the first time this year and have been really chuffed with them. I don't actually eat them but I think they're beautiful plants. I've just recently picked the final ones and given them to my kids. I had to compost the plants as they were indoors and had got some horrid bugs all over them...they did well though.

I confess that even if I lived in the proper climate, chilis are something that I would almost certainly not grow since they are so cheap and plentiful at my Chinese supermarket. And even though I threw away many usused ones in the past, now I know how perfectly they freeze for later use.

I think you miss the point of gardening. I would enjoy gardening bigger items, if it were possible for me to have a garden. I loved the smell of my grandparents' cellar full of potatoes and apples, as well as the smell of the attic full of onions, shallots and garlic.

Hmmm ~~ onions & garlic are readily available in stores, and I imagine even shallots are easy to obtain in France. Those are darling, Cheery, like little fairy lights among the flowers.

HW was actually too dumb to find the thread. Nothing to see, she's planting some other stuff but I do know we had one sole yellow, thumb sized aubergine... Sorry, planting ain't so exciting to me...
