I have so much enjoyed all the photos with beautiful or quirky little details that AnyPorters have shared on the forum. So, here's a whole thread for that kind of picture. These pictures were taken this morning, when the light was still soft. morning sunlight through the maidenhair fern spores on a frond of the maidenhair fern

Is that bamboo behind the maidenhair fern?

No, that's an angel wing begonia. Good call, though. To an ant, the picture could be an antediluvian forest of giant bamboos and gingkos.

It's part of the banana plant (see in Putting Down Roots,Tropicana for full view of).

Wow ~~ there's a climate chasm! I thought it was immediately obvious that it was a banana plant. Funny, Imec, especially in light of the fact I didn't know what some things were in your recent St Norbert thread..

Is the banana flower sideways now? It was right side up earlier today. ~ ? ~I don't know what this is, but it's not a fly. It only visits this particular flower.

The iridescence doesn't show up so much in the photo -- it's a shiny green as a green fly and it flies in that same ponderous way a bee does. The picture is at least twice life size.
I have no idea why the picture is sideways for me. It wasn't earlier today. Maybe my browser?

And these pictures ............. they were taken in ..... Cambodia? ;D
These are gorgeous, HW ~~ what an eye you have! One extra detail in the pictures that I really liked is the glimpse of the broken shell ground below the crab's perch.

Wonderful HW! The one of the rocks is my favorite. Did I ever mention my absolute enduring fascination for rocks? It's quite a joke amongst those who know me well. I just simply can't be helped in this area. I never quite realized it until I moved here and realized, there are no rocks here due to our terrain.Anytime someone I know is going somewhere and ask if there's anything I would like,my answer is always,"a rock".Subsequently,I have rocks of all shapes and sizes from all over the world.
