Kimby, I was unsure where to put it. Here is as good a place as any. It was the view to the left when standing on the balcony of my hotel room the last few days.

Lucky you! Is the hotel itself as charming as your view?

Mark is multi-tasking!

The only multi-tasking I can do is drink coffee and read at the same time. That's as long as I remember where my mouth is. It is was pure luck the photo fits in a couple of places. Kimby, the hotel was mid range and showing signs of neglect. But the right price for here at 50 Euros per room per night with half board. It is right on the sea shore, has enough to do for the kids (36 Euro for them per room half board), has three swimming pools of which one is heated and all the usual facilities (apart from wifi), plus it is about an hour and a quarter drive from my house. www.palmerabeachresort.com/photo_gallery.htm

Frankly, I often prefer hotels with a "lived in" look. Sometimes the hotel rooms and other facilities these days are so antiseptic that it seems as though they are never used by human beings.
My indulgence does not extend to cigarette burns on tables and lavatories.

This is just some moss on top of a stone wall along the Seine.

If you hadn't explained it, K2, I'd have thought we were looking at grass clumps about a foot in diameter growing on gravelly soil. Details, indeed!

It is one of the rare times that I found the "macro" setting on my camera, and I was surprised by the result as well.

It's the surface of the reflector thingy I put in my windscreen to stop the sun getting in the car when it's parked.

The glass of the windows on my landing has always fascinated me as night falls, but this is the first time I stopped to take a few pictures.
