It's probably really a scary monster, Rikita!
There are trucks with loudspeakers that go around selling stuff. One passed a while ago selling apples and oranges. I didn't pay any attention until it stopped outside my gate and blasted this song. Ahhh ~~ the very heart and soul of Mexico! ;D The clanking in the background is my landlord, whose hobby is metalworking.
The truck can't really be seen, due to the angle of the gate and where it was parked. It's the blue patch through the trees.

Every two weeks the grass cutters from hell arrive in the neighborhood. Today was their day. They do all the yards on the block except for three houses. The funniest part is that the head of the crew, his name is Lionel Hampton. Truly. I tease him relentlessly that he is not making very good vibes.Gratefully, they were just finishing when I arrived home.

I think it's worth remarking that we've just had the Two Minutes' Silence for Remembrance Sunday.

The sounds around here change with the seasons as I'm sure they do everywhere else. This time of year we often have heavy mist and fog. Therefore, the fog horn sounds are much more pronounced. It's really quite lovely and ethereal to wake up to in the morning. The river is also very high from heavy rains in the Midwest,so the ships and other trffic on the river are up higher, closer to us.

and again, only the music i am listening to. it is too cold to leave the window open for long, so other sounds have little chance of getting in here.

We are finally are having some cool weather here in the Southwest so windows and doors are open. We live not too far from a busy street but we rarely hear just routine traffic, just the loud motorcycles and of course emergency vehicles. Otherwise it is pretty quiet.

I forgot about the church bells. There is a lovely church very nearby,Mater Dolorosa. They ring the Angelus and also ring bells for funerals and weddings. Today, for some odd reason, there is the sound of one bell every so often, one bell at off times, not on the hour or half hour, more like 10 minutes after or 37 after the hour. Most peculiar.

Church bells still kooky,I must investigate this. (Not that it bothers me. Just curious as to what would cause this).

I only have one window facing the back street, but it is double glazed and always closed. However, some of my neighbors have all of their windows on that side, or at least their bedroom window. They seem to very much regret the two African restaurants right across from my building, as the diners become very joyous on the weekend around 3 a.m. (probably when the place decides to close and puts them out on the street). Nevertheless, I hear them sometimes anyway.

The errant church bell seems to be back on the right peal. As long as it doesn't start banging out Christmas Carols.

My 14 year old, who is listening to Joan Jett's rendition of Wild Thing. I was a Joan Jett fan at her age. Which was a verrry long time ago. She followed that with Be Italian from the new movie Nine. She wants to be an actress, btw. A famous one actually.

You can hear your boyfriend smoking, Rikita? Hmmm. That's some heavy-duty inhaling! I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day, their old familiar carols play. And wild and sweet the words repeat ............ Isn't it imperative for 14 year-olds to want to be famous and glamorous? Maybe she will be!

Here is the sound around me right this minute. I didn't happen to catch any of the big boomer fireworks while filming, but my dog is very unhappy about them. (Various parties south of me, with bands & fireworks. The buzz is insect noise.)

It could be any number of things, Imec -- a girl's 15th birthday party (huge deal here), a wedding, a baptism, you name it. I have the door open, & it's almost completely silent out right now. I walked out to the porch & heard a very distant boomer, some dogs far away, & nothing else.

I am in the office withjust one colleague today. I can hear him sniffing as he has a horrid cold, the tapping of the keyboard, the rumble of traffic, buses' brakes squeaking and the server keeps sounding like it is going to take off

That server noise is caused by your employer's filtering machine recording how you are spending your time at work.

bf is playing a fifa game on his computer, so there is the cheering and sounds from that, and the sound of him edging on the players, and swearing sometimes as the game doesn't seem to go so well.

I had to slap my forehead today when I realized that of course all the bands & fireworks meant posadas. Ginger has been wedged trembling under my feet most of the day because of the big giant flinch-causing boomers. And here, for your viewing and listening pleasure, is the posada as it went past my house. Y'all go in the other room to listen to it, okay? It's still going on & I'm getting a little sick of it.

Been pretty quiet all night, except for the company waterfall and the airplanes occasionally landing at the airport close to here. Sometimes the building makes funny noises - the wind I guess, or the planes. I used to think I could hear voices (I'm the only one in the building), and then I realized that when the planes land the vibrations make the building make strange noises. Strange. But now it's after 6am so I'm starting to hear the elevator beeping and doors opening and closing. Every time someone comes in the front doors they look like they've just been dipped in liquid nitrogen... that's how cold it is out there!

Heavy rain and the early morning garbage/dumpster trucks which every Saturday morning make the most incredibly loud, metal on metal banging sounds.Such an uncivilized way to wake up!
