Michel Telo is beginning a European tour but I don't know if it is destined for the lusophone population or if it is to try for a real international career.
In any case, it seems pretty clear that something is happening because the clip that I posted at #92 with more than 24 million views is now indicating 310 million views 3 months later.

This is actually an old favourite, but it was renewed today when I received a lovely gift from tod2. I saw him in concert a number of times and it was always a magical moment. Asimbonanga - Johnny Clegg

So often I miss out on posted videos because I get frustrated with my crappy connection. Well, I got to the 5 minute mark on the Ode to Joy and will emphatically return. Wow! Wonderful stuff on this page in general. Lugg, thanks so much for that introduction to Kimbra. Want to hear more of her! In a way, she reminds me of Amy W., something about the depth of her voice.

Love it; makes me want to vote for him though I normally despise people who use TV ads to decide their votes. Rap mannerisms always seem humorous coming from another culture.
The Kimbra one's fun.
I'd love to have been in that stadium during the Beethoven. It's such a thrill being in the middle of the harmonic vibrations, even with a handful of singers. When I was in choruses I was impressed when the director could tell where a wrong note originated with 200 singers. Even he'd've been perplexed here, I bet.

He's the candidate I really, really, really want to see gain the presidency. There's some fun stuff worked into the video -- Morena, an allusion to the predominant skin color in Mexico, is also an acronym for Movimiento de Regeneración Nacional. The broken-down blue bus with its passengers waving down the Morena bus, represents PAN, the party of the last two presidents. (Political parties all have their own colors here, with only the PRI being allowed to use the national flag colors of green, white, & red.)

Very cool lola! Where'd you find them?
Here's what I can't get enough of lately - couldn't pick just one song (even 3 was hard) as the whole album is killer!

Tonight I found out about Theresa Andersson, who's been around for a few years now. Oh well, new to me. If anyone else doesn't know about her, get on to youtube & be amazed.

All 3 of these last postings are just fabulous!!! I love ,loved Appalachia Rising, (and found out they are from NOLA!!) I had never heard of them. I loved Alabama Shakes as well!! Theresa Andersson I've known for years, also NOLA based, she is wonderful. God, can she play that fiddle!!! (And, a really nice person as well, a rabid gardener and as cute as she can be.) I'm thrilled you have found her Bixa.

My local LA NPR radio station introduces me to a lot of music that I would have missed in Phoenix. They introduced me to Alabama Shakes a few months ago and I love them. And Bixa, "Morning Becomes Eclectic" is the radio show on NPR. I think it was broadcast in Phoenix, but maybe at a weird hour. Anyway, I missed the Theresa Andersson songs on MBE. My most recent top iPod play is also courtesy of NPR: Delta Rae's "Its a Long Way Down" I do not recommend watching the video, however. It is visually awful. Just listen. I'm sorry. As usual, I can't remember how to embed a video. Where can I find the cheat sheet?

Yes, watching T.Andersson's videos makes one want to be a freer, happier person. That fact that she's a gardener really ices the cake. For me, the voices in Delta Rae are too airy. The woman singing in Holding on to Good is just awful. To embed a youtube video, copy the url & paste it here. Highlight it, then click on the youtube button: ( message buttons explanation found in Port Authority) Annie, Amy McDonald's voice is tremendous, although I can't say I like any of her songs.

while i find the ode to joy sometimes a bit annoying, it must have been quite something to be part of this... oh, also find it interesting to hear them all singing in german, somehow...

They don't really look like they speak German most of the time.

Imec, I'd just listened to the Alabama Shakes tracks and was about to reply, got sidetracked for a couple of days. They're terrific. What a voice!
Isn't Rising Appalachia just? I stumbled on them while looking for Lightnin Hopkins' version of Honey Baby Blues, liked theirs better. This is another reason I value the 8 Song Game, besides the fabulous cash prizes and the international recognition.

I was wondering is they might be from the NO area, casimira, partly because of the vegetation in this other YouTube gem:
Want to listen to the others above on my non work computer.

They don't really look like they speak German most of the time. well at the beginning it is definitely german. later i don't know, as i am not that familiar with those parts of it... the beginning of course we had to listen to and sing in school...

I meant "in their daily lives" -- I'm sure they are singing in German all through the symphony.
