I like the song but I love the video even more. He should think about losing the suit before strolling through that part of town.

Excellent! What town are we thinking that is? For some reason I hope that's attempted homicide and not suicide we're seeing.

Our dear friend who has been gone all summer returned and brought me some cool new music he thought I would enjoy. I don't know if anyone's heard her before but this lady really turns me on.

Another cool one from singer Joan Osborne doing a rendition of a old Slim Harpo tune Shake Your Hips, very sassy, brassy, sexy song.

Haven't looked into this thread in a while. The selections on this page are most interesting. I've looked at more of the videos on each of them & must say that Julia Holter is quite intriguing -- her Marienbad is beautiful. Willy Moon's voice & talent are tremendous, but the over-production (to my taste) kind of spoils it for me. Ditto that wall o'production on M83. Joan Osborne has an incredible voice, but it's hard for me to not give the nod to the female-voice originals on her covers. She fares better when she covers songs done originally by men, I think, as witness her Bring It On Home, which probably should be x-rated.
My entry here is not a new band as they've been around for at least five years, but new to me. The more I listen, the more I love them.
This song was played at the end of the movie Sunshine, which is how I discovered this band. Whew!

I don't have to hog this thread ~~ it's for everyone! ;D
Anyway, just found out about this person from reading of her new release. Can't find any examples online, but here's a little bit of it. After you watch the other selections below, I think you'll want to find more.

Oh shoot ~~ you posted this 4 days ago & I'm just now seeing it?
SUPER find, Casimira ~~ thanks.
I love the music and her sheer spirit is inspiring.
When I was a kid, my family took a vacation to the north of Spain. Bumping over dirt roads lined with small silos on stilts, we'd pass groups of people wearing peg-bottomed wooden clogs, walking along playing the gaita.

They are wonderful! At first, the music and the "writing on the wall" made me think they were Haitian - music I hear all the time here on my street - but it seems they are from the Congo (or one of the two Congos). It is fascinating to look at the musics of the Americas of African origins going "back home" and evolving once again.
Getting a faster computer means I'm wasting a lot of time looking at videos, but this was not wasted time. Playing it again.

As often happens, this song is already more than a year old, but Michel Gondry dug it up for his new film.

Nice song. I first heard it recently on Hart of Dixie (tv show).
This is a new favorite of mine, although it's now @4 years old. The only problem with discovering it was that all day yesterday I had the first part of Blondie's version going through my head -- no words, just that annoying whoo whooo whoo whooo woowoowoo thing that earworms do.

I'm glad the rules for this one are somewhat flexible.
Beth Hart: my, my, my.
My college student daughter just danced this one for me. The set up lasts for about a minute, bit I like that part, too. Anna Kendricks:
