Are you a fast person or a slow person?
Since earliest childhood, I have always been very slow, and one of my first sentences when I began to speak was "Don't rush me!"
Just about everyone passes me on the sidewalk, because I am not in a hurry -- and I am never late, either. Since I know my speed, I give myself plenty of time to get to where I'm going, and even time to slow down even more if something of interest catches my eye.
In the morning, I get up an hour and a half before I have to leave home, and I still arrive at the office half an hour early, so when I'm running really late, I'm still there 10 or 15 minutes early.
At one time, I was given the ironic nickname "Flash" in honor of my general velocity at work.
Nevertheless, I am capable of bursts of speed when necessary -- such as when I have only a 15 minute warning before somebody arrives at my place, or if something went wrong with the transporation, putting me in danger of arriving at the movies late. I also have some contradictory habits -- for example, I am a very fast eater, because I am in a hurry to get back to doing nothing.

I am perhaps a little of both. When I was working I was more like you K2, slow to start, always early to work, never late. I was an outside salesperson for construction and so my days, while planned had to be flexible because I had appointments, but I also had customers with emergencies, and if the delivery truck couldn't get the supplies to them, then I would have to go back to the office/warehouse and deliver the supplies. Now, being retired, after two years of trying to slow down, I am there. Do what I want with Mr. T63 when we want, so now I am a tortoise.

Definitely a tortoise for all the same reasons K2 stated with the exception of eating fast. I hate being rushed and resent others those who put me in a position to be rushed. I very much like to ease into my day. When involved in a project, particularly in the garden,I tend to be very methodical and thorough in my approach. My energy level is generally very high when working and it gives the impression of being fast, however, never sloppy or careless.Focused, sharp and very exacting.

I am a hare, but try to be a tortoise sometimes so I can appreciate things, relax and not just jump straight away off to the new thing. But I am not very good at it. I am always off and on the next thing. Usually I am doing several things at the same time. I can't just watch TV, I have to be uploading pictures, posting on here, chopping veg or painting my nails too. Maybe all of them And waiting around in queues or for appointments is painful, although I am always early as I just had to leave wherever I was as I was ready to go... I am learning to slow down at work as my tendancy to want to get things done and off and move to the next means I can make silly mistakes...but I find it hard working with people who will take twice as long to get something 101% right rather than get it out quickly at 99%. I am sure I drive them mad too.

I think the world would be a terribly boring place were we all hares or all tortoises. I live with the expectation that this is the way things are. I do get terribly frustrated though, when I hire someone who is careless AND slow. I generally know how long it takes to do something.Even without their familiarity with the task,I know a fuckup when I see one. Not on my dime please?

Yes, although I find its frustrating I know its better as we all balance each other out. I make sure stuff actually gets done and they make sure it is done accurately! Its the same at home, I married a tortoise and he calms me down and I make sure he moves sometimes

mixture i guess... i used to always walk really slow, take ages for the way home from school, and find walking fast really tiring. these days, i don't walk very very fast, but still at a good pace. always eaten very fast. read slow these days - used to read faster because i used to skip over parts. i get distracted easily which makes me slow in a lot of things, and i tend to waste time with details...

I tend to walk fast if I'm trying to get from one point to another. It feels more efficient, plus adds exercise. If I'm with another person on a city street, it seems to make more sense to hurry to where we can sit down and talk together, rather than taking up space and maneuvering the sidewalk because we're yakking.
