I did, however, get to experience true happiness again, a few years later, when I got to teach dental hygiene students at the college level. A couple of times I have had the pleasure of watching true teachers in action, and it's as inspiring and exhilarating as watching a Lawrence Olivier on the stage. It's a gift, true, but also hard work to have a roomful of different people raptly absorbing instruction. You are obviously one of the true teachers, Paris. I also recently derived considerable gratificacion from seeing two Pátzcuaro photo albums of mine linked on a TravelWiki. That is exciting and gratifying, Don C. How did it come about? I hope your permission was asked.

Happiness is sitting in a warm cafe with a dim cost lights watching the snow fall, drinking hot chocolate and eating cake with lovely people.

Happiness is sitting in front of a flickering fireplace with a kitty purring in your lap. Or two kitties!

Yep, I like that too, Rikita. A nice long relaxing drive down winding country roads with someone you love. To me that's true happiness.

...realizing that you - and all the other members of your family - have finally gotten past any old misunderstandings, grudges, hurt feelings, and can simply appreciate each other and the family unit as a whole, before the older members start to die off or disappear into dementia....

So many little, insignificant things make me happy.
Right now I'm thinking of a day spent at the beach building sandcastles...
hugging and kissing someone you love
When someone shows you kindness out of the blue
Inspiring people with good, gentle hearts
Talking to my brother in the way we used to talk twenty years ago, all is forgiven in just one moment. That made me really happy.
When someone really 'gets me' and understands me, (and STILL like me), with all my quirky, odd ways.

Happiness starts from within, but is helped by romantic interest. With this going on, anything makes me happy

Happiness starts from within, but is helped by romantic interest. With this going on, anything makes me happy Spot on, Iain. Being in love makes the world seem like a nicer and more pleasant place to live, and, for me, it makes more sense and just seems more right somehow. Worth striving for.
