What a great contrast NYC girl between old and new These two are less so ,both are part of Hereford Cathedral , the first shows the restoration of the tower , the other a new building built next to the old It was built with all that technology had to offer to preserve the chained library , the Mappa Mundi and a 1217 revision of the Magna Carta which it now houses.

The new building complements the old one nicely. Good photos!

What NYCGirl said. Really an exceptional job of referencing the existing structure while letting the new have flair & presence of its own.

Love it! Did you play with it as you went up or down the stairs?

No but I sat at the bottom of the stairs with a juice and admired the view

We are upgraded from piston engines to jets. Another 10, 000 feet higher and an extra 200 mph. POWER.

First time I've seen this thread. It reminds me of the first time I saw the Pyramide at the Louvre, which I thought was brilliant.

I think it is a nursery school because there is a playground on the back side. The address is something along the lines of 154 rue de Crimée but I couldn't find any listing for it -- however you can go all around it on Google Street View.
edit: actually, it can't possibly be a public school of any sort because there is no name on the front, and no "liberté égalité fraternité" and no flag. It could possibly be a Jewish school, though, because it is embedded in the main Jewish part of Paris.
2nd edit: I finally managed to zoom into the small plaque on the front, and it is just a municipal crèche run by the city.
