It's amazing how you can take photos with all kind of devices nowadays. My son takes them with his DSI.

And Jack's being rude. You should scold him D! Wait until I meet him in Paris, he's got it coming. Big time.

that should be interesting - will you stalk me from mexico? or do you move for stalking? or will you pay a ticket to mexico for me, so the stalking becomes easier?

Hmmmm. This stalking business is turning out to be harder than I'd thought.
I think I should send you a ticket. When you get here and I'm stalking you, you can yell phrases (Get away from me, crazy woman! I'm calling the police!) in German. That way, when I stalk you back to your home, I'll be prepared.

Driving in New York freaks me out although I have done it a few times. The main rule that I learned was "do not hesitate -- ever!" If the light turns green, just go! If it is the wrong street, at least you can take advantage of the fact that most of NYC is an easy grid and that the one way streets are quite predictable.

Fortunately, for me,I did not have to do the driving. But,even as a passenger I get freaked out sometimes. Especially on the Long Island Expressway and the approach to the bridge.Driving in and around NYC itself isn't too bad. It's the f'n pedestrians (jaywalking tourists) that create the biggest hazard. My friend who does the drive routinely has it down pat. I find that New York drivers,as crazy as they are,are more courteous than here or most especially Boston, the worst drivers I have ever encountered anywhere.

Jaywalkers in NYC are not a problem for me as a driver, because Paris and NYC have identical jaywalking rules -- "anything goes!" -- and I can deal with that. Actually, it is as a cyclist that I have learned to hate pedestrians, but at least it has made me a more attentive pedestrian.

That's the typical American West, maybe Arizona or Utah.

Arizona came to mind, when I saw that one, K.
I really should dig up my old photos which I took during my USA trip. They will need scanning etc. though...before I can post them.

Gosh, Imec -- that first picture could be a magnificent opening shot to a movie. It's so great the way you caught the last golden light, yet down inside the buildings it's already dark.
Great pic, Kerouac, with the ancient weathering of the hills mirrored in the weathered road. Super composition.
