Absolutely first class Kerouac. It shouts Paris from the Genie de Liberte to the bit of graffiti tucked away in the top left corner.

Gaudi's Casa Mila (La Pedrera) in Barcelona. These look to me like space monsters from Dr Who:

Those chimneys are awesome Patrick! I can never admire the craftmanship enough on the beautiful twisty chimneys of Hampton Court Palace.

Nice pics. Both of the last two entries remind me of chess pieces.

I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that if the wind blows, the brickwork looks very unsafe

I don't think I've visited the chimney thread in awhile. The last several are new to me and all are so interesting looking! Such fascinating brick work on the castle, Mossie.

So interesting, Lugg. Is the second one in Portugal? Both nice pictures, but I really love the first one.

Oh I want to know more about this - was it part of a house ?

Lugg, that is what is left when (a lot of) American houses burn down. In the southwest, you can see entire neighbourhoods of chimneys after a bad brush or forest fire.

I actually wrote about it in my Cumberland Island post. The chimney is from an out-building located to the north of Dungeness on the southern end of Cumberland.
