I have never been to Mexico City, but I find the photos in this album really fascinating and appealing, even though they will probably horrify our rural Mexicans here.

Whooo ~~ those are fabulous, K!!!
Mexico City is indeed fascinating and I wish I knew it better. I find huge cities exhilarating even if I'm only driving through them, and Mexico definitely fits that bill. Once in your life you need to fly into Mexico City in order to experience the horrified thrill when you realize that you are indeed landing right in the middle of a massive city. One abiding image I have is of arriving by bus on the outskirts of the city at dawn. We passed miles of garbage dumps. As the pink light of day came up, sun rays filtered through the mist and smoke to illuminate the amorphous shapes of humans emerging from their homes in the garbage.
The helicoptor photos are a gift, allowing one to see the creature from strange, intimate angles.
I've said this before here, but I urge people to see the movie Man on Fire, which brilliantly uses the city of México as a character in the movie.

I LOVE Mexico City. At least the parts where I sort of know my way around.
And, you never know who'll you'll meet, just for a fleeting moment.
