Griffith Observatory has indeed always been one of my favorite views of Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, my last visit there left an extremely negative impression, because that is where I discovered the the lock of the car trunk had been punched in and everything stolen out of the back, including my ticket and passport.
This did not happen at the Observatory but an hour or two earlier when I was shopping down on chic Melrose Avenue.

So why aren't you still in LA, Kerouac? Panhandling for spare change on street corners...hoping to raise enough cash for a return ticket to gay Paree?

One of my favorite places when we lived in Oregon was Cannon Beach. Here is a clip for the place. It is a wonderful little town right on the ocean. If any of you remember a movie called the Goonies. It was filmed in Cannon Beach and we were staying there the weekend, so we got to see some of the filming. It was one of the first movied Steven Spielberg did. Here is a spot that abc news did, skip the first video and go to the next one. abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=8287012

That's interesting, T63. The main thing I remember about The Goonies was how beautiful the area was where the movie was filmed.
