Some time ago, I took a major road trip in the American Northwest. Actually, I flew in and out of Vancouver, but 95% of my time was spent in the United States, doing a big road loop through Washington, Idaho and Montana and then down to Nevada, over to California and back up through Oregon and Washington to Vancouver for my return flight. I absolutely love the big empty areas of the West, driving on long straight roads and not seeing another car for an hour or two. I'm sure that Kimby could show us some amazing things if Montana had not made broadband internet illegal. Here are some photos from that trip (and yes, it can snow quite a bit in March!), but I really have no idea where I was, so some of these photos may be from Idaho.

Wonderful pictures! I've met so many foreign visitors who just loved the bigness of the US. It always reminded me anew of what all that space must have felt like to the various settlers who moved further and further west through what is now the US.
Even though it gets so cold and snowy there, it's easy to see why the inhabitants love it so much.

Nice pictures, K2! Most all of my beautiful Montana pictures were taken on film, and my scanner doesn't work with my new computer so I can't digitize them. "yes it can snow quite a bit in March" is a bit of an understatement. It can snow in April May and even June. Then starts again in September or October. Summer is so sweet, though, we forgive it for being too short.
