Stunning. I lived in a couple of those neighborhoods in the early mid 70's (Son of Sam era)down in the village off Broome Street.It's almost unrecognizable from then to now. Lost grit... Even what was Spanish Harlem in the upper East 90's when I last visited is all yuppified and they're putting in that 2nd Ave subway line. I used to frequent a club on E.96th and 2nd,great marimba,steel drums,cheap booze. And because I lived in the neighborhood no one messed with me. I'd go alone,late hours,have a blast.
