Tight Squeeze! (Part 5b of imec in France)

As in many old European cities, many streets are narrow and absolutely clogged with parked cars - sometimes making it difficult for drivers to make their way through town. This is a scene that played out (to the delight of the young imecs) as we toured Toulouse. I believe he eventually surrendered and reversed out of the situation.

What was he thinking? I love the look on his face at the end as he's radioing in to dispatch.
We had a bus that used to come up and down our nearby commercial strip and we would giggle with delight from our barstools watching it and the delivery trucks at an impasse. The city finally moved the route.
I'm glad the young imecs enjoyed it.

Well, that Finnish bus has absolutely no scratches on it, and I'm sure he had no intention of adding any.

This is great in more ways than one, Imec. I enjoyed getting to look at more of the architecture of Toulouse. There is something about it that just pings perfectly on my sensibilities. But also, I take grim glee in the bus company forcibly coming up against the fact that the buses are just too damned big to be running there.

The bus incident is classic!!! It reminds me of our ride to the bus in Siena. Our landlady's son took us and he had a BMW SUV and we were winding thru the narrow streets of Siena. Down one, up another and then, the third was so skinny. He just very casually pressed a button and his rear view mirrors folded in and we continued down the street which we would not have been able to do if the mirrors were in their original position.
