That last photo makes me think of the Americans who want to rent a "big" car in Europe and then tell stories about having to fold in the side view mirrors to get through certain streets.

TOO gorgeous! Was the drive that was more fun than a roller coaster as much fun for the white-knuckled driver of the vehicle? Everything is so lush. Is there other farming besides grapes there, or is the terrain too steep and stony? Kerouac ~~ "everyone knows" that great big cars are "safer".

It's not all steep and stony - around Pechingorp there were lost of sunflower fields as well as corn fields and lots of other stuff I couldn't identify (driving too fast).

In Perugia, we did see some Germans driving an extremely large German car (much bigger than imec's lovely rental) actually get stuck in a medieval lane. The lane didn't have the clearance with greenery as shown in the pic above.

I can't imagine how it must feel to live in the midst of such beauty, to walk outside and see the yellow door, to meander on an average day to your pizzeria along this tiny street.

Here I sit in Tucson, it is 103 and it 7:00pm. I tell you all these pictures just make me salivate for something green and somewhere cooler. I know that I haven't done any threads or pictures of Tucson, well it is just too damn hot to go anywhere but in the fall, I promise along with my Paris thread I will put together a Tucson Thread. Meanwhile I just roll back in my desk chair and let the ceiling fan whirl the air conditioning around and think cool thoughts while looking at your beautiful pictures Imec.

Obviously I'm bemused that anyone would find Cordes and thereabout "somewhere cooler", though actually it is rather warm here now.
