Oooooooo, Tilly ~~ this is absolutely gorgeous! It's so timeless and so very green. I yearn to visit England, and seeing pictures like this that prove some of my fantasies are real is a painful delight. The shots of the town and the university buildings are stellar. I was particularly taken with the street with all the chimneys and with the shot of the stately old building and the bikes. (Are the fiends you visited anything like the impy things with which you're plagued? )

OK - out of sheer evil sometime this week I will upload some pictures of when we visited Stratford-Upon-Avon earlier in the year Seriously, there is a lots and lots of grey in between these beautiful spots...but the special bits really are worth seeing. Actually I probably just feel it is grey after spending so many hours on the motorway this weekend I hope you visit one day

These photos are great and brought back memories of when I spent a day in Cambridge about 15 years ago. I was with my mother and we had dinner on a terrace near one of the buildings of Cambridge University. There was a church on campus and we listened to a beautiful concert throughout the meal. I didn't make it to Stratford-on-Avon and would love to see what it is like.

Great pictures, Tilly. I suppose they have professionals poling those boats around since normal people would keep colliding...?

You don't really think that, do you? In that case, we'd better report this professional to the authorities. She is clearly under age and probably not licensed to pilot a water craft:

We are only about 60-90 mins from Cambrige but we stopped off on the way back from visiting friends in Durham for the weekend...which with getting stuck in road works and traffic took us 8.5 hours driving instead of 5. Painful! Much quicker getting back which gave us time to stop off ;D

Oh Tilly!!!!!! These photos are beautiful. I really really want to visit England for more than one day. On our last trip to Paris, we took a one day tour of London thru British Tours. Just enough to see some of the places that I have read about for years and left me wanting more. I have been a serious anglophile since I started to read. I have read everything I can get my hands on regarding English history and still do.
