Was the picture supposed to make us smile? It worked! Love the dimpled water, the bands of delicately reflected color, and the surprise of the colored buildings.

Gentle rain is the best to walk in.

What different moods and times of day in the last two pictures. Great composition and rich b&w in yours Rikita and a lively, happy "broadway boogie woogie" feel to yours, Kerouac.

And yet is the very same window through which one can view the Ganesh procession.

Great reflections too Kerouac! I always study your photos in great detail just because of my 'obsession' with Paris ;D It is the first time I have noticed actual parking bays where a car can pull off out of the road - probably walked past a few but this is the first time I've really noticed!
Can you tell me what that sort of ledge? is on the opposite side of the road? The wall seems to lean back away from the pavement - then lastly which Rue?

Thanks. That is rue Doudeauville.
On the other side of the street is just the fence protecting the elementary school sidewalk from passing traffic.

Tod2, here is the view from the other side of the street, and it is still pouring rain!

Meanwhile, on the Champs Elysées, the wind and rain are making progress on the stubborn leaves.

Oh, how I would love to walking in the rain on the Champs Elysees today! I would be jumping in the puddles too.

You're a star Kerouac! I can now see how the railing in Rue Doudeauville played tricks on my eyes As you know I am a fan of the Champs and felt real tug at my heartstrings when I saw the places I regularly pop into when there, like La Poste!

Tonight's icy rain is supposed to turn into snow at any moment, but I wanted at last look at the shiny sidewalks before I froze to death. Even if Asian tourists look a little silly wrapped in plastic, they were more intelligent than a lot of other people, including Parisians. Having arrived at my destination, I trudged across the icy railroad bridge on my way to the nursing home. The icy rain is still banging on my roof.

The wet sidewalks are so pretty with the neon lights reflected in the water. The railbridge looks positively spooky.......

All of the rail bridges in my neighborhood (and there are plenty since I am wedged between the Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord rail lines) are constantly used as shooting locations (in more ways than one) for all of the crime series and movies that take place in Paris. I bet at least 50 people have "died" on that bridge.
