I hope to build a small bridge some day, just to be able to say that I did it. (and hey, maybe it will still be there 500 years later!)

Oh those tones of blue, NYCG ~~ wonderful picture!
Kimby, where is that & was it taken from a plane? It's an amazing photo.
I don't know what it is about your picture, Amboseli, but it somehow feels like music. Very nice!

bixa, it was on Sicily, though we saw other very long viaducts elsewhere in Italy, too. We were amazed at the places they put roads, tunneling through mountains and bridging over valleys. It was taken from the roadside above the valley. Amboseli's bridge reminds me of the Milwaukee Art Museum somehow. mam.org/info/details/quadracci.php

All those grand bridges. Here's the l'il 'ol bridge over the river which leads to my road. It's a single track bridge rebuilt in 1963 -

We drove to an overlook in the Marin headlands that is supposed to have spectacular views of the Golden Gate bridge. It was a rainy, foggy day, so this is the best I could do: Even driving right under it, it was hard to see much: The clouds parted a bit as I departed San Fran - and both the Bay Bridge and Golden Gate put in an appearance.

Some really nice ones on this page. Dordogne River shots and Mick's bridge, nice.
About bridge building: There's a fine little scene in the recent movie Margin Call where Stanley Tucci's character, having been sacked from his high paying job at a Wall St brokerage, talks about a bridge he designed and how many hours and miles of driving that bridge saved the people who live there.

Wow indeed - San francisco meets Bangkok, fabulous This is at Terminal 21, one of Bangkok's newer shopping malls. Each floor is themed with a different world city, San Francisco, London, Paris, Rome, Tokyo and Istanbul. The top floor, cinema area, is Hollywood, of course!
