I have a friend who goes around this province and takes lots of photos of bridges that she sees along the way. I have a couple for now, but will add more later on: This used to hold a bridge. It's what's left of the old bridge that crossed over the St. John river. We have several new ones now, but it is kind of strange seeing these blocks of cement in the middle of a river:

There are tons of those in Europe, but something that happened between 1939 and 1945 is responsible for a lot of them.

Oh really? Do you mean the war destroyed the bridges in that time period? That can't be the case here though. I have to find out what happened to that half bridge now. I'll let you know.

Canadian rivers are REAL rivers....English ones are piddlingly small even compared with French ones.

I took this in London a few years ago. I guess there was a bridge there before too.

And here is a whole series of bridges taken on the same day I really liked the Millenium Bridge. There is a school outing crossing it here.

I had totally forgotten that I had this. I would be remiss in not having a picture of the bridge that gave the little village in New York where I was born,it's name,Bridgehampton. Many a memory of fishing, crabbing, kayaking etc. in these waters that run into the Atlantic.

Great photos everyone. Here's some I took yesterday, in the Capital city: There are a few bridges that cross over the St. John river, which divides the city.

What a solid looking bridge, with so much detail too. It looks like it may carry a lot of traffic.

There are some real beauties in this thread. Kerouac, have you been on the Viaduc de Millau? I don't have Fear of Bridge, but that one gives me pause.

Yes, I've been across it a couple of times. If you Google for photos of it, you will find some real jaw-droppers.

I've driven over it, but didn't really appreciate it at the time.
These are great.

Spectacular shots,#12 gives me more than pause though. Jeez, would have major difficulty with that one I'm afraid. I realized yesterday that it is not a fear of the height I have problems with,it's all the visual stimulation around me that distracts me and would be an extreme hazard,I want to see up,down, all around, keeping focused ahead of me would come in there somewhere...maybe too late. Kerouac,to answer your question about the Chef Menteur Hwy. No, I don't have any shots of ,but, will keep in mind the next time I go out that way. The bridge I posted yesterday (Huey P. Long) is expanding,as in,they are currently building 2 bridges on each side of the existing bridge. Talk about distraction... They are erecting a bridge on both sides of the existing,so,2 bridges going up at once. The existing bridge is from the 1930's and accommodates a railway on the top tier. My husband has vivid memories of riding on the train as a young boy when his father worked for the railway. Same bridge from a distance

Oh my gosh, Kerouac, the Viaduc de Millau bridge is something else, really. I have a fear of heights but would still like to cross over that one. The view from above must just take your breath a way.

The problem I have is that I don't have relatively many photos. So I end up having to post something that you've seen before. I do hesitate to repeat myself but -

Your infamous bus, Mark I've seen this one before, but how amazing. For those who may not know, Mark worked as a guide/driver for an Over landing company, that specialized in tours across Africa and Asia.
