Does anyone have experience with using Hotwire to get a hotel in Tokyo? Tips?

I've been to Tokyo twice but used primitive means to get a hotel.
The first time I stayed at the Shinjuku Inter-Continental using my airline employee discount through their central reservations.
The second time, I just took the train into the city from Narita and let the tourist office find a hotel for me. That was a very interesting experience, because unlike the I-C, I think I was the only Westerner in the entire hotel. I remember that the laminated information card in the room had instructions along the lines of "please not hanging wet clothing from window and spoiling beauty of hotel" as well as quite a bit of stuff about avoiding death during an earthquake.

Sorry. I now have figured out that Hotwire doesn't have any Asian hotels, letting Tokyo out completely. Ignore my ignorance, please!

There are countless search engines like that now. I'm waiting for the search engine that finds the best search engine.
