Yes, a very good article -- thanks. It's hard to read about zoos, with the many studies and publications for the past 40+ years -- Nénette's life span -- that have spelled out the effect such captivity has on animals.

Reading the statistics in the article brings home the point that zoos are now obligated to act as stewards for endangered animals. Sounds like the zookeepers would be do a "humane" job of that, given enough funding.
