My Chinese colleague is retiring in June, so they have been looking for a replacement. So far, the most promising applicant is an Indian woman from Pondicherry. I might have some good new curry recipes in the second half of the year.

True. One of the other departments had a pleasant young woman from Mauritius for two years. She was of Indian origin but I think about the only thing she knew how to do was push the button on the microwave oven.

If she was an ethnic Indian from Mauriitius she probably was used to servants doing the cooking.
