Not my hometown, but here are a couple of mimes taking a beer and cigarette break in Krakow, Poland.

Are they drinking beer through a straw???

So it would appear. I guess THAT conclusively answers the age-old question, "Is everything a mime does irritating?"

Hmmm, looks like it. Maybe it wasn't beer?

That makes a little change when cruising along the Seine in Paris from that usual stuff like the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame.

h those people are mimes!!! Now I get it. kerouac - I thought the big Indian parade in Paris was amazingly unexpected when I read about it. I would love to be in town to see it. When is it? September?
Even the Indian neighborhood around the Gare du Nord (which I read about in your fine "multicultural walk in Paris" post and then visited) was shocking to me. I hadn't expected it to be so big.

It's either the last Sunday of August or the first Sunday of September. I haven't seen this year's date yet.

bjd, great shot of the mimes! Kerouac, definitely not the usual fare. What is it? Of course you noticed that the two small boats, resting quietly, picked up the palette of the green.

That's a walkway, right Kerouac?
ilbonito, have you seen some of the Indian festivals in the UK? They are huge.

It's an old riverfront warehouse that was gutted and turned into something else. Upper left is the Quai d'Austerlitz street side of the building. Upper right is the warehouse next door that has not been renovated. (Unaware of any plans for that anyway.) And this is what is now inside the green building. ------>

Those green swoops are wonderful! Great pics. I particularly like the 3rd one in #15, with the blue and green party boat echoing the green walkway and the blue windows of the building beyond.

That is not a party boat. That is public transportation. It is the Voguéo which shuttles from Austerlitz to the veterinary school of Maisons-Alfort in the suburbs. It uses the normal Navigo Paris transport pass or a ticket that costs 3€. It takes you to not far from where Paris Mystique rides his bicycle.

I had a pizza on riverside the other day and actually walked to the far end of the restaurant for the first time. I saw this old villa. Don't know why I've never noticed it from the other side.
