Who ever designs a car to de-activate it self if the oil light goes on? By de-activate I mean, you can turn it on but it won't go into gear and won't move. The other day I got stuck in town, because the oil light went on. So I put a quart of oil in, (luckily there was a service station across the road). And it started moving again. Then a couple of days ago the same thing happened. But it didn't need oil this time. I put some in anyway, to the max line only. But the damn oil light still wouldn't go off and so the car would not move! Eventually (after quite some time), it corrected itself. But how frustrating! So today I have to get the pressure switch (forget the exact name for it), changed, have a new one put in. What fun it is having a new car! (not).

Hmmmm... a new car shouldn't ever need oil added between changes really. There's cause for concern there.
I see their logic, not wanting you to drive the car in a condition that could damage the powertrain but adding electrical gizmos with the authority to prevent the car being used will inevitably cause unintended grief.

fumobici, it's a ridiculous feature, and very annoying. I can see why some might want it that way, but I don't think it's a brilliant idea, no.
