...... is shown in graphic detail in the link below for the first time by MRIRI scans. www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1269074/Crushed-lungs-strained-joints-swollen-heart--extraordinary-scans-reveal-fat-does-you.htmlExcessive fat consumed in our daily food is deposited all around the body - see the white areas. The fat that we eat has to be stored somewhere if it cannot be utilized by body cells. It ends up wrapping itself around our vital organs, enlarging the heart, crushing the lungs and putting strain on joints which leads to heart disease, breathlessness and joint pain. It also predisposes us to diabetes. When we breathe and eat chemical toxins the body first tries to store them away in the liver, but when that becomes full the toxins are stored in fat cells. As the liver processes fat cells chemical toxins are released into the circulation poisoning the body and causing all sorts of complications. This is a timely reminder that we must control our appetites and not put on a lot of weight.

Those MRI scans say a lot. I try and cut out as much of the fat as possible in my cooking techniques. I know that you can make food taste just as good with much less fat. Whatever way you look at it, fat is dangerous and unhealthy. I've always watched what I eat and exercised , but lately I've uped my exercise routine, and I'm happy about that. I want to look good in my favourite bikini this summer

Me, I'm fat. I could lose weight if I could drum up some willpower and stop stuffing my face. The only glandular problem I have is with my salivary glands.
I also need to exercise more. I don't walk enough.

When I lived in a convent in France, aged 18, I became fat and weighed just over 10 stones! I recognized that my extra weight was due to the fact that we had to eat lots of bread to satisfy our appetites (bread and chocolate twice a day for 'gouter')...
Since then I learned my lesson and hovver around 9 stone, sometimes 8.5 stones... I even got down to 7.5stones without trying .....but this was too thin.
The MRI scan is very useful because it shows exactly where and how excess fat is stored.

I'm skinny but 10 stone would probably be considered skinny too for a woman over five feet in height in gluttonous, jiggling wallowing 21st century America.

I understand that even skinny people can suffer from harmful visceral fat around organs? I very nearly bought a book today, but left it for next time (got four other books today).. it is titled the end of over-eating and discusses the food industry and how it manipulates us to not being able to say no to more of it. This book concentrates on Europe and Northern America and the ready-made food of today's "home cooking" as well as restaurant food. www.newscientist.com/article/mg20227091.500-review-the-end-of-overeating.html
