Timothée Chalamet received quite a few comments on his outfit.

I really hated most of the dresses that I have seen in the press, albeit a small sample, but I did think that Jamie Dornan's wife looked lovely and he looked very nice indeed, although his shoes were pretty odd.

You mean odd because they look so informal? At least they're not sneakers!
Yes, they do look festive and appropriate. I love how she pulls off natural & glamorous at the same time. https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/27/23/55874523-10658035-image-a-2_1648421824843.jpg

The gowns that some of the women wore who are buxom were very distasteful. To focus on one body part does nothing to accentuate the gown's other features.

All of these women (and men) have had different upbringings. Some of them believe "you are what you wear" while others put more faith in their cleavage and their tits. It's just a shame that more women at these events do not prefer to put their minds on display and rise above the fashion diktats.

I don't think you can single out the buxom women, even though their breasts were perhaps more noticeable. The less-bosomy contingent were equally vulgar in playing peekaboo with their chesticles. Since at least half the people reading this will have worn a brassiere at some point in their lives, I know they'll agree that the bosom drapes, tabs, shelfs, etc. used in some of those gowns look uncomfortable, contraindicated, and just plain silly.

There’s no doubt that they are tricky things.
Wonderful but tricky.

I'm waiting for some of the men on the red carpet to wear a codpiece. That way we can all smirk about how big or small they are.

Oh! I just magnified the picture & now see what you mean. They probably cost a zillion dollars and are highly desirable.

Forgive me but I have never understood the attire called a 'codpiece'. Firstly it looks ridiculous and seeing it was the style in the middle ages, it could not possibly be the result of an overdose of Viagra.

And men could use a big one even if there was something small underneath.

Grammy awards coming up Sunday. Maybe musicians have better fashion sense than actors/actresses.
May not be televised, but Newsweek tells us how to watch the red carpet action: “Arrivals will be streamed on grammy.com starting at 6.30pm EDT (3.30pm PDT), while celebrity site E! kicks-off its red carpet coverage at 4pm EDT (1pm PDT), with Live From E! Grammys starting at 6pm EDT (3pm PDT).”

Maybe musicians have better fashion sense than actors/actresses. From my limited experience -- limited to occasional looking at the links on this thread -- musicians/singers have even worse taste than actors.

It's funny how those Met Gala outfits seem less silly than some of the Oscar's red carpet outfits. The Met Gala ones are so obviously meant to be outrageous and amusing -- in fact to the degree that the more normal formal wear from that evenig seems dull and out of place. In contrast, some of the beastly garments worn on Oscar night were awful precisely because they were meant to be beautiful &/or elegant, but were laughably off the mark.
re: Marilyn's dress ~ gee thanks, Kimby. Yes, I did compulsively compare the sequin layout around the midriff on both dresses.

I laughed out loud of the video of KK trying to walk in the Monroe dress - thank goodness she took it off as soon as she left the red carpet.

Lady Gaga could have carried that stunt off with everyone cheering for her. KK just looks like the attention-seeking cow she is. Also, MM supported the bodice with her natural bosom, not with whatever pointy foundation KK is sporting. (meow)

No, Bixa. I keep wondering why this Kim Kardashian is everywhere: the Met gala, the Washington correspondents dinner... Why? Such an example of celebrity in its worst meaning. Marilyn Monroe wasn't very classy, but this KK just looks like a slut.

Whole dam family is “famous for being famous”. Robert Kardashian, the family patriarch was OJ’s defense attorney. Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner) was married to one of the Kardashians, actually Robert’s ex-wife, Kris, the mother of their 3 daughters, Kim, Kourtney, & Khloe Kardashian, as well as of Kendall and Kylie Jenner. All attention-seeking celebrities. news.amomama.com/261416-robert-kardashian-death-spouse-lawyer-fa.htmlAnd no, I’ve never watched a single episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians...they’re just everywhere. BTW, Kim K was married to Kanye West till just recently, another reason she’s (in)famous.

I'm with you too Bixa. Not a fan of 'slebs'...attention seeking, famous-for-being-famous ((invariably thin) narcissistic twerps. I blame Thatcher.
