Pyrex glass is not same as normal glass, and mustn't be recycled with bottle glass. They add some elements, the mateux is different.

Thank you! I looked up mateux and kept getting mateuse. When I clicked on it, I got a warning that the definition might contain "adult material" that could be considered offensive. Naturally I clicked on it anyway and only proved my innocence, as I didn't know what they were talking about.

As of today, the Duralex factory is closing for 4 months due to a huge increase in energy costs. The furnaces use gas.
However, they are pretty sure they have enough stock on hand to cover demand until they reopen. Time will tell. (Will the glasses fly off the shelves like toilet paper?)

And to follow up on this, a major story on the TV news today was the restarting of the Duralex glass furnaces now that gas prices have gone down.
It really goes to show how important Duralex is considered to be in France. The Arcoroc furnaces were also fired up today. Since they also make crystal, this is important too.
